Chris Duer is an expert in the field of composites. He has traveled around the globe to hundreds of composites operations to teach other companies how to manufacture with composite materials. Countless companies relied on his help to develop new, cutting-edge projects and to save their processes on projects that took a wrong turn.
Chris has been behind the scenes on the world’s most influential and high profile jobs. Volvo Ocean Race Yachts, America’s Cup Yachts, P1 Offshore Powerboats, the Space Shuttle, military components and industrial composites. If someone said it couldn’t be built, Chris was probably there, lending his expertise to make the build a success.
Chris is a student of American manufacturing history. The ingenuity of our predecessors in attacking some of the most pressing engineering issues of their time has drawn him to the field of engineering, but with the knowledge that having a full set of practical skills is the key to manufacturing success. This drive has allowed Chris the opportunity to work on the Space Shuttle, Solid Rocket Boosters, nuclear powered aircraft carriers and nuclear powered submarines; some of the most complex engineered structures in our recent history.
Chris’ attention to detail and ability to curb any issue that may arise before it has the opportunity is the secret to the success of every project he has been involved in. He has obtained Secret Level Security Clearance and knows the ins and outs of government requirements. Chris is meticulous about taking notes on each project and analyzing them in order to continually refine the lessons learned for each process and project. Because of this, each project begins with the best chances for success and is continually refined to drive down cost and manufacturing time.
